Master of Engineering in Robotics Tuition Awards Program

The Maryland Robotics Center Master of Engineering in Robotics Tuition Awards Program is open to graduating Robotics and Autonomous Systems Minor students intending on pursuing a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Robotics degree offered by Maryland Applied Graduate Engineering (MAGE). Award selection will be made during the students’ final undergraduate semester. Funds will be made available during the first semester of the Master of Engineering in Robotics program in the form of tuition remission.

Program Requirements

  • Completion of the Robotics and Autonomous System Minor with a 3.0 GPA.
  • Admission to and course registration for the MENG in Robotics program offered by MAGE.

How to Apply

  • For best consideration, email your application to robotics-minor@umd.edu by the last day of the Spring semester. 
  • The application should include a statement of interest not longer than one page, the most recent transcript, and a letter of recommendation from a UMD faculty member who can evaluate the student’s robotics skills and knowledge. In your statement of interest, please indicate why you want to pursue the Master of Engineering in Robotics degree and what you plan to do afterward. You may also wish to include any significant experiences you have had related to robotics.

The number of awards is limited and based on the availability of fund. In your statement of interest, please indicate why you want to pursue the Master of Engineering in Robotics degree and what you plan to do afterward. You may also wish to include any significant experiences you have had related to robotics. These are one-time awards only in the amount of $1500 each. Funds will be deposited to the student’s UMD tuition account after the drop/add deadline. The award will be canceled if the student withdraws from the program prior to completion of the first semester in the Master of Engineering in Robotics program.
