My research focuses on how young people, educators, and communities learn and interact with and design robotic systems in authentic educational settings to support their social and emotional development, well-being, and resilience. Through interdisciplinary collaborations across education, computer science, human development, and engineering, I study how robotics fosters problem-solving, creativity, and identity development, as well as how learners make sense of and interact with autonomous and socially responsive systems. My work also emphasizes participatory and human- and community-centered design, ensuring that diverse youth populations are meaningfully included in the development and use of emerging technologies.
