Abstract:

For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology. Come learn about the FIRST Robotics competition, it's origins in technology and current partnerships. Hear about the tech that began in FIRST and the tech involved in the ever changing game challenges. Most importantly, learn about FIRST's Tech People and how you can become one!

Biography:

Ashley Cowall is a Senior Consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton and has been an active volunteer for FIRST Robotics programs for over a decade. She enjoys working with teams of high school students on Systems Engineering concepts and frequently draws material from her Operations Research background in doing so (BS MIT '10). She is currently serving on FIRST's Chesapeake Regional Planning Committee, focusing on the FIRST Stop visitor and VIP program, as well as serving as Judge Advisor for the State of Maryland at the FIRST Tech Challenge level of competition. In her spare time, she works with McDonogh Robotics and demos a home-made tesla coil to STEM program participants.
