Time Domain Astronomy Hackathon
in conjunction with the
Astronomical Data Analysis Software and Systems Conference (ADASS XXVIII)

Nov. 10-11, 2018

We invite anybody from the community to participate in a fun astronomy themed hackathon
weekend! The City of College Park has graciously made $1000 in prize money available for the top three hackers. Google is donating up to $300 per person in cloud credits to help you hack. Coding experience is not necessary because you can join a team with coders. All you need is a creative mind!

We start at 9 am on Saturday November 10 to gather ideas and form teams. You can hack through the day and night, and at 11 am the next day you will submit your hack for judging. Your product could be a proof-of-concept app, a plugin to existing code, a storyboard design, anything that embodies creative hacking around the Time Domain Astronomy theme. You will give a short presentation from your team to convince our expert jury that you had a winning idea! The first prize winner will be invited to present their hack at the ADASS XVIII meeting the following week. For further details, to join the discussion, and to register, please visit the above link. Registration is free! Questions? Email Peter Teuben.
